Poetry by Catherin Elizabet Belle | ||
We have all had dreams of being a poet, at one time or another. To write your own poetry book is a challenge but a rewarding one. You may purchase un-autographed copies of our books from Amazon. You may also wish to visit our publisher sites, e-BookTime and/or Xlibris. Dreams have been the motivator to great things since before ‘Socrates’. If you have dreamed of being an author, there is no time like the present to begin. My first book was published when I was sixty-seven. I’m not going to tell you it is easy to write, but I am going to tell you that the reward of accomplishment is the greatest feeling of success you will ever experience. Most authors write about what they know from experience; however, research is a time consuming fact of any writers life. Believe in yourself! Live your dream! Open your mind! Follow your star! Words fascinate me! When writing poetry you want it to be original. Learning new words and becoming adept at using them generates a memorable poem; one that will stand the test of time. Make extensive use of the dictionary, thesaurus, and rhyming dictionary. All are essential tools in the development of your poem. Trivia: Perhaps Catherin should have been born in another century. Running free like a wild colt in the 1800’s fits her personality better than the age of cyber technology. Trivia: “To thine own self be true”, advice given by her paternal grandmother, has guided Ms Belle’s actions since she was a young barefoot kid in blue jeans. Trivia: Diamonds twinkling in the ebony sky are more precious than jewels adorning silky soft hands. Trivia: Ms Belle collects stuffed toys and has a menagerie of jaguars, tigers, cats, teddy bears, lions, poodles, dachshunds, beagles, etc. Trivia: “A gift given in secret with no expectations is truly a gift from the heart.” “A Smile, A Prayer, A Thank you, Start a beautiful day!” “Life is a roller coaster; hang on for the ride of a lifetime!!”
