Poetry by Catherin Elizabet Belle
Catherin Shares more thoughts
Words fascinate me! It is such a thrill to find little known or seldom used words that mean the same as the ones most commonly used; and it’s even more exciting using the new words to create a work of art.
When writing poetry you want it to be original. Learning new words and becoming adept at using them generates a memorable poem; one that will stand the test of time. Make extensive use of the dictionary, thesaurus, and rhyming dictionary. All are essential tools in the development of your poem.
Trivia: Perhaps Catherin should have been born in another century. Running free like a wild colt in the 1800’s fits her personality better than the age of cyber technology.
Trivia: “To thine own self be true”, advice given by her paternal grandmother, has guided Ms Belle’s actions since she was a young barefoot kid in blue jeans.
Trivia: Diamonds twinkling in the ebony sky are more precious than jewels adorning silky soft hands.
Trivia: Ms Belle collects stuffed toys and has a menagerie of jaguars, tigers, cats, teddy bears, lions, poodles, dachshunds, beagles, etc.
Trivia: “A gift given in secret with no expectations is truly a gift from the heart.”
“A Smile, A Prayer, A Thank you, Start a beautiful day!”
“Life is a roller coaster; hang on for the ride of a lifetime!!”
